Cookie Policy
This is a working version of the Cookie Policy. The owner reviews it before public launch. If anything here changes after that review, this page is updated to match.
This policy explains how N4XION AI uses cookies and similar storage in your browser. N4XION AI is a product of N4XION Limited. It gives you one assistant, OPAW v1, that routes each request to a suitable free AI provider and returns one answer. You reach us at [email protected].
What a cookie is
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores in your browser. Some values are kept in local storage instead, which works in a similar way. Both let the site remember information between page loads. We keep our use of this technology small and we describe every item below.
Cookie categories
We group cookies into three categories. You control the two optional categories through the cookie banner and the settings link in the footer.
- Necessary. Always on. These keep you signed in, protect the site against abuse, and remember your cookie choice. The site cannot work without them, so they do not need consent.
- Functional. Off until you choose them. These remember preferences such as your interface settings so you do not set them again on each visit.
- Analytics. Off until you choose them. These help us understand how the site is used so we can improve it. Optional analytics do not load before you consent.
Optional analytics and functional storage stay inactive until you turn them on. If you decline, or if you ignore the banner, only the necessary category runs. Cloudflare Web Analytics loads only after you set the analytics preference to on.
How we store your choice
When you make a choice in the cookie banner, we save it in a small first party preference cookie or in local storage on your device. This is how the site knows which optional categories to load on your next visit. Clearing your browser storage removes this record, and the banner appears again so you can choose once more.
Cookies and storage we use
The list below documents each item with its name, provider, purpose, category, duration, and whether it is first party or third party. First party means the item is set by N4XION AI. Third party means it is set by a provider we use.
- Name: n4xion_session. Provider: N4XION AI. Purpose: keeps you signed in during your session. Category: Necessary. Duration: session, removed when you sign out or the session ends. Type: first party.
- Name: n4xion_cookie_consent. Provider: N4XION AI. Purpose: stores your cookie choice for each category. Category: Necessary. Duration: up to 12 months. Type: first party.
- Name: n4xion_prefs. Provider: N4XION AI. Purpose: remembers interface preferences such as your chosen settings. Category: Functional. Duration: up to 12 months. Type: first party.
- Name: cf_clearance and related security tokens. Provider: Cloudflare. Purpose: protects the site from abuse and supports Cloudflare Turnstile checks. Category: Necessary. Duration: from session length up to about 30 minutes for verification tokens. Type: third party.
- Name: Cloudflare Web Analytics measurement data. Provider: Cloudflare. Purpose: gives us privacy aware usage counts, and loads only after you set the analytics preference to on. Category: Analytics. Duration: no client side cookie is set by this tool. Type: third party.
We may add or remove items as the product changes. When we do, we update this list and, where an optional category is involved, we ask for your choice again.
How to change your choice
You can change your cookie choice at any time through the settings link in the footer. You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings, though blocking the necessary category may stop parts of the site from working. Under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020, you can contact us about the information we hold and how we handle it.
